    A really wonderful 11th Century Manor, within its own grounds, which, is fast gaining a reputation as one of ‘BRITAINS MOST HAUNTED HOUSES’. Has Been featured on MOST HAUNTED TV Series. Set in a secluded valley, the Manor was first recorded in the Doomsday Book and contains eight rooms of period furniture from Elizabethan to Victorian eras, Including a Priest Hole, barrel ceiling and the infamous Haunted Room. There are over four acres of beautiful gardens, with ponds and woodland walks for you to enjoy. The popular Tearoom offers morning coffee - light lunches and scrumptious Manor cream teas and are open to public.

    Open 11th April to 27th October 

    Guided Tours: Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday 11am last tour 3pm. Sunday: 12 noon last tour 3pm (July & August 10.30 – 4pm) Adults £9.00 Children 14 and under: £6.00 Family ticket (2 adults + 2 children): £27,  Children under 5 free.  Non Guided Tours: Monday & Friday 11am last entry 3pm (July & August 10.30pm last entry 3.30pm)  Adults: £5.50 Children 14 and under: £2.00 Children under 5 free  Entry to gardens free but donation appreciated.

  • Directions:

    East of Ilfracombe between A399 and B3230. Follow brown historic house signs. Private car park at end of Chambercombe Lane. Nearest station is Barnstaple station. Take number 301 from Barnstaple bus station. Alight Disney Thatch pub, 1 mile walk (follow brown signs).
