The emphasis is on personal and individual service for guests. Prices will always be good value, and rather than lots of facilities and a more standardised service you'll get friendly, usually family run accommodation with the owners often on hand to offer extra information and advice on the local area.

B&B's tend to be in a small private house with no more than 6 guests offering accommodation including breakfast. Guest Houses and Guest Accommodation usually have up to 12 bedrooms with a selection of accommodation for couples, families and single rooms. Often they have a licensed bar and serve evening meals.
