The property, with origins in the Domesday Book and parts dating back some 400 years, was tastefully converted to a hotel in 1976 and has recently undergone a major refurbishment.

Our “Tyme Restaurant” (which is also open to non-residents) is open all year for evening meals, Sunday and week-day lunches, cream teas, private parties and weddings. Having put down roots in North Devon, our Head Chef, Darren Smith (who started in the Royal Berkshire Hilton where he worked for six years) draws inspiration from Northern Italy and France. He is now excited about being creative with the local produce and is inspired to develop his own modern take on classical dishes. We have a fantastic range of food producers and suppliers on our doorstep which he incorporates into his own take of the best quality of modern cuisine that is fresh, seasonal and local.

In addition to the Lounge Bar and Tyme Restaurant, the Hotel boasts wonderful facilities including en-suite bedrooms and suites, a courtyard and extensive gardens where you can relax with a glass of wine. This, coupled with an indoor heated swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi, gym and games room for residents means that Trimstone Manor Country House Hotel has everything you need to relax and enjoy your stay.

The Hotel also incorporates several self-catering cottages. Each Cottage is fully furnished to a good standard and offers a variety of sleeping arrangements to suit most needs (each cottage sleeping up to nine people). Pets are welcome in the Cottages but are excluded from the Hotel, other than guide dogs. Guests staying in the cottages are also most welcome to use the Hotel bar and Restaurant and enjoy special terms for breakfast and evening meals.

We are able to cater for larger functions, including weddings. We hold a license to hold wedding ceremonies and our grounds are also licensed for entertainment. So, whether you want a formal a la carte meal in our Restaurant or a marquee with a more relaxed atmosphere, we can help design a day tailored to suit you.

Prices quotes are on a Bed and Breakfast basis and based on two people sharing a double room. A 33% single supplement is applicable on double rooms. Children’s concessions apply. To include a three-course, fine cuisine evening meal to your stay, add £23.50 per night if you book pre-arrival (otherwise, our three-course evening meal price is £28.50). Road Directions

Drive north towards Ilfracombe on the A361 passing through Braunton. Just four miles beyond Braunton you will see Hotel signs. Turn left into Trimstone - we are 300 yards away. From Ilfracombe, drive one mile to Mullacott Cross and take the Braunton turning (the A361) and we are half a mile along. Take the next right turn down the 300 yard lane.

Public Transport Directions

There is a request bus stop which drops/picks-up at the top of Trimstone lane on the A371 between Braunton and Ilfracombe. The Hotel is just 300 yards down the lane.
