Score Valley Country House offers the personal service of a guest house with the tranquillity, space and comfort of a country house hotel. This splendid 18th century residence holds pride of place with commanding views over this secluded unspoiled valley, which has hardly changed over the years. The narrow lane leading to the circular drive ensures that the front of Score Valley Country House has remained one of Ilfracombe´s best kept secrets.

With ample parking for all our guests we believe we can offer you a peaceful undisturbed holiday or short break and a perfect base from which to explore the wonders of Exmoor or North Devon´s finest sandy beaches at Woolacombe, Croyde and Saunton Sands. Although we appear to be in the middle of the countryside it is only a pleasant 20 minute walk from the hotel to Ilfracombe with its beautiful working harbour, shops, restaurants, Tunnels Beaches and other attractions.

Driving directions

For your assistance, when coming from the Barnstaple/Braunton direction, the house is located just off of the A361 exactly one mile from Mullacott Cross Roundabout. As you come down the hill from Mullacott just after the 40mph limit sign you will see our first sign in the hedgerow on the right. After this there is a lay by on the left hand side. Around the next bend after the lay by you will see our second sign where there is an immediate sharp hairpin turn on the right to enter the lane leading to the house. If coming from the centre of Ilfracombe follow the signs for A361 Barnstaple (St Brannocks Road). The lane to the house is then on the left immediately after the second 40mph speed limit sign.

By Bus

By public transport, take the number 21/21A bus, and disembark at the bus stop in St Brannocks Road by Kingsley Avenue. Unfortunately there is no stop close to Score Valley.

CANCELLATIONS

Advise the establishment immediately of any change in your accommodation requirements. Please remember that when making a booking you are entering into a legally binding contract and any changes for whatever reason may be subject to a cancellation fee in addition to losing any deposit you may have paid. COMPLAINTS ADVICE

In the unlikely event you are not happy about an aspect of your holiday accommodation we recommend you bring your concerns to the attention of the management of your establishment, so the problem can, if possible, be remedied at the time. If there is no improvement you should call at the Tourist Information Centre and put your concerns in writing. The issue can then be investigated by the IDTA. You can also make your concerns known to the organisation that has inspected the establishment and again we advise you to do this in writing.
