Lynton is located twenty miles to the east of Ilfracombe. The area is often referred to as Little Switzerland, due to the outstanding natural beauty of the area. The Valley of Rocks in Lynton boasts dramatic rocks, stunning scenery and has the highest sea cliffs in England. Lynmouth has a picturesque harbour and a beautiful riverside walk leading to Watersmeet.
The famous Victorian cliff railway - opened in 1890 - links the two villages and is a must for visitors to experience.
Lyn Valley Art & Craft Centre has a fine display of crafts - all by local artists. It is a place where you will find the perfect gift to take home. There is also a candle maker in the village.
In Lynton, there is a 75 seat cinema showing up to date films. Prior to the film there are many places to eat.
In Lynmouth, the state of the art Exmoor National Park Centre gives insight into life - past and present - of Exmoor. Open all year round.
